Centrifugal pump system screen – VMTF type UECN – VMTF TYPE

VMTF is designed for prevention of ingress of mechanical admixtures contained in the formation fluid into the operating cavity of the submersible centrifugal pump. The inlet module is a part of the electric centrifugal pump installation. It is installed between the centrifugal pump and the electric motor.

Filtering of mechanical admixtures is performed when the formation fluid passes through the slotted filtering elements made of stainless steel. The fine filtration inlet modules (VMTF) for the electric submersible centrifugal pumps (submersible ECN) are designed for removal of mechanical admixtures with more than 0.1 (0.2; 0.3) mm cross-section particles from the formation fluid when the later passes through the wire-wound slotted filter element installed on the external surface of the inlet module housing.

The filtering fineness is determined by the filter element slot size. Depending on the capacity of the pumping unit, the inlet module length can consist of one or two sections, their total length being 3 to 12 m. The Russian manufacturer's VMTF file filtration inlet module is used for submersible centrifugal pumps without axial support of the shaft and is installed between the seal section taking up axial loads from the pump, and the lower pump section.

FORMATION FLUID SPECIFICATIONS
  • The formation fluid is the mixture of oil, associated water, mineral admixtures and petroleum gas;
  • the maximum density of the fluid is 1400 kg/mЗ;
  • pH value of the associated water is 5.0 to 8.5;
  • the maximum content of the associated water is 99%;
  • the maximum kinetic viscosity of the single-phase fluid is 1 mm 2/s;
  • the amount of aggressive components – H2S – 1.25 g/l, СO2 – 1.15 g/l, Сl – 20 g/l, НСОЗ – 1 g/l, Са+2 – 2 g/l;
  • the maximum weight concentration of particles percentage (PPC) is 0.30% (3.0 g/l);
  • the maximum concentration of hydrogen sulphide is 0.125% (1.25 g/l);
  • the pumped-out fluid temperature is no more than150 °С;
  • microhardness of the particles is 7 points of Mohs scale according to GOST 6370-82
